Technology Refresh and Active Directory Implementation

The CIO of the organization at a 20 year anniversary celebration featured the success of this program as the model project for all future initiatives representing speed, delivery, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.  The scope of this initiative spanned 33 geographical sites, 19 vendor engagements, 3000+ desktop/laptop users, 17 new infrastructure environment, 219 new servers, Lotus Notes Migration, Active Directory Implementation, and management of 400 contingent workers.


  • Validated program goals within scope of work and expected funding - 
  • Obtained stakeholders understanding regarding deliverables and when benefits would be realized as well as accountability for achieving results
  • Prepared and presented regular program progress reports for the CIO, COO and other teams as appropriate
  • Produced and managed clearly defined task deliverables over time, defined by milestones and critical path items
  • Identified potential project risks and implemented a risk management plan to address and mitigate
  • Coordinated with system operations for equipment acquisition, setup, and readiness of the environment for development, testing, production deployment, and post deployment support

IT Outsourcing Initiative

The Project Experts, Inc. was responsible for leading and implementing the information technology outsourcing initiative for help desk and desk side support services.  A Project "Roadmap" for all future IT outsourcing initiatives was also developed for the organization.

Office Depot Multiple Initiatives

Provided services to Office Depot Organization from 1987 through 2001 that would assist them to grow and become one of the world leaders in the Office Products Industry.  


Enterprise Portfolio Mgmt:  Developed a process working with key executives world-wide to identify, rank, and assess project initiatives.  Established and implemented monthly executive steering committee meetings, new initiative reviews, dashboard reporting and metrics, workforce planning and scheduling, organization impact modeling, project ROI, budgeting, forecasting, and project change control

eBusiness Program Management:  Responsible for rescuing 3 eCommerce implementations given three months, no project documentation, and a project team and architecture spread geographically across United States, Australia, Japan and Europe.  the success of this project increased the e-business by 75 percent, to $719.6 million, up from $412.9 million previous year and earned Office Depot the honor of being the second largest e-tailer in the world.

Disaster Recovery Program Management:  Responsible for the development and management of the disaster recovery program for the corporate data centers 53,000 square floor of computer, network, telecommunications and key business processes.  Project completed in 9 months involving over 25 functional teams, vendor management, and extensive contract negotiations.

System Availability Process and Procedures:  Developed high availability processes and infrastructure for all computing platforms and applications worldwide - Acting as a liaison between all key business executives, developed a new team of system availability managers to ensure up-time to all critical business applications internationally.  During the year 2000 this team exceeded the goals of maintaining high availability of 99.7%

Logistics / Distribution Systems:  Designed and automated all warehouse operation functions internationally reducing operational costs by 30%.  This project involved the re-design and integration of RF automation processes which enabled same day delivery resulting in market share leadership world-wide.
